McLeroy Wins Share of Moe O'Brien Intercollegiate

KINDER, La. - Senior Mitchell McLeroy fired a seven-under par 137 to win a share of the 2012 Moe O'Brien Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon at Koasati Pines Resort in Kinder, La. McLeroy trailed by three strokes heading into the final 18 holes, but rallied with a final round four under to grab a share of the title. The Lumberjacks followed McLeroy's lead, after recording an opening-round 292, SFA battled back Tuesday afternoon to fire a 286 on the 7,185-yard, par-72 course placing second overall. SFA finished the tournament with four par, or better rounds. Sophomore Blake Pugh finished the tournament tied for sixth after carding a 72-71 - 143. Freshman Major Monzingo battled back from a tough opening round to fire a one-over 73 on the final day. He finished the two-day tournament tied for 25th (77-73 - 150). Sophomore Cody Wing was the team's fourth scorer with a seven-over par 151 to finish tied for 29th. Wing finished just ahead of classmate Austin DeWitt who was tied for 31st, just a stroke off Wing's pace.
