FORT WORTH, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team finished the first day of competition ninth at the UTA/Waterchase Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas, Monday afternoon. The 'Jacks recorded a 12-over par 588.

Freshman Jacob Taylor is currently leading the SFA attack with an even par 144. Taylor was two under after the opening round, but shot a two-over par 74 in the second round of the day. He is currently tied for 16th overall. Classmate Kyle Robbins is currently three strokes back of Taylor after shooting a 70-77 - 147. He is tied for 32nd overall. Freshman Michael Smith is tied for 45th after shooting a five-over par 149. Smith began the day with an opening-round 75, and improved upon that by a stroke in the second round.

Freshman Justin Weant is currently tied for 60th after shooting an eight-over 152 on Monday. Sophomore Matthew Oates rounded out the Lumberjacks scoring with a nine-over par 153 Monday.

The Lumberjacks return to action Tuesday morning for the final round of the UTA/Waterchase Invitational. SFA will tee off at 8 a.m. from the Waterchase Golf Club.
