'Jacks Falter In Final Round Of Southern Chrysler Crown Classic

The University of Arkansas-Little Rock could not repeat Monday afternoon's round of 283 Tuesday, but did manage to shoot a final round 307 and hang on for the team title at the 2002 SFA Southern Chrysler Crown Classic. Arkansas State was the only team that tried to make a move on the Trojans as they shot a final round of 302 and climbed three spots, into a tie for third place. SFA did not play well Tuesday as they ballooned to a final round 334, the highest round of the day. The 'Jacks dropped two spots in the standings on the final day of play. No member of the SFA team managed to break 80 on the #1 rated golf course in the state. Arkansas State's Jeremiah Shields shot the low round of the day, a 70, and claimed the individual title by a shot over Lke Scrymgeour of Oral Roberts. UALR's Luke Bakke, the leader heading into play today shot a final round 78 and fell into a tie for third place. Trevor Sauntry was the top finished for the Lumberjacks, finishing in a tie for 46th place with rounds of 78-75-83.
