Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf coach Mike Hopson has announced the signing of Plano, Texas senior Justin Foust, to a letter of intent to play golf and continue his education at SFA next fall. Foust attends Allen High School and will graduate in May.

Foust is the second metroplex area golfer to sign a letter of intent to play golf for the Lumberjacks next year.

Foust won the 2001 North Texas PGA junior event at Allen's Twin Creeks Golf Course in 20011 with an even par round of 72 and posted a fourth place finish at the NTPGA Masters event at Dallas' Brookhaven Country Club with a round of 73.

As a sophomore, Foust competed in two national junior events, posting top five finishes at the 2000 IJGT Tournament at Austin's Barton Creek Resort with rounds of 74-73, and a second place finish at the Doubletree Carmel Highland Resort in San Diego, California. Foust shot rounds of 74-74 at the event.

In 2001, Foust competed at the Texas-Oklahoma Junior Tournament in Wichita Falls and placed 13th out of 130 competitors with rounds of 72-82-75-71.

The right handed swinging Foust carries a 3 handicap at Tanglewood Country Club.
