SFA Announces 2009 Hall of Fame Class

A national championship coach, a coaching legend, a trailblazing administrator and eight former athletes are the newest inductees to the SFA Athletics Hall of Fame announced Director of Athletics Robert Hill Tuesday morning. The 2009 class consists of Diane Baker (softball coach), Sue Gunter (women's basketball coach), Sadie Allison (Ladyjack Athletics Director, softball and badminton coach), Misty Ballard (track and field), Terry Brown (men's basketball and golf), Jennifer Hoppe (track and field), Penni Lewis (softball), Rick Maxey (golf), Kristy Rhodes Owens (volleyball), Robert Pearce (football) and John Pigg (golf). SFA Lands 80 Selections To Commissioner's Honor Roll

Stephen F. Austin is among the top five schools in the Southland Conference on the Spring 2009 SLC Commissioner's Honor Roll, announced earlier this week by league officials. Led by 28 honorees from the women's track and field team, including 2009 SLC Student-Athlete of the Year Amy Shackelford, SFA landed 80 selections in all.MORE[+]

Riley to be Inducted into TJC Circle of Honor

Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack head basketball coach Lee Ann Riley will be inducted into the Tyler Junior College Circle of Honor TJC Director of Athletics Dr. Tim Drain announced in a release Monday afternoon. Riley, who coached at TJC from 1994-2000, is a part of a seven-member 2009 class that also includes Judy Kniffen Clardy (tennis), Richard Farris (football), David Rodriguez (basketball), Jacky Sweeny (basketball), Robert Talkington (football) and Scotti Wood (basketball).MORE[+]

Blair to be Inducted into SLC Hall Honor

Former Stephen F. Austin women's basketball coach Gary Blair has been selected as the newest inductee into the Southland Conference Hall of Honor announced league officials Thursday afternoon. Blair will be inducted into the Hall of Honor along with former McNeese State basketball standout Joe Dumars. The two will be inducted during the SLC's annual Honor's Ceremony and Dinner on May 28 at the San Luis Resort in Galveston, Texas.MORE[+]
