Ladyjack Basketball Travels to Hammond

HAMMOND, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team will look to start Southland Conference play 2-0 as it faces the Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions (9-5, 1-0 SLC) Saturday in Hammond. SFA enters the game 9-5 overall and 1-0 in league play after defeating Nicholls State, 58-52, in Thibodaux Thursday night. The game is slated to begin at 3 p.m. from the University Center.
SFA vs. the Lady Lions: The Ladyjacks have dominated the all-time series against Southeastern Louisiana, owning an 18-2 (.900) all-time record. The Ladyjacks won the first 17 meetings in the series, which dates back to the 1986-87 season, before losing both games to the Lady Lions during the 2004-05 season. SFA won the only meeting between the two programs last season, recording an 83-48 win over SLU.
Senior Leadership: Senior Charity Egenti posted another strong performance Thursday night. The 6-3 post player finished the game with 18 points and a career-high 19 rebounds. She is averaging 20.7 points, 11.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.
Up Next ... The Ladyjacks return home on Thursday, Jan. 11, to host Lamar. The game against the Lady Cardinals will tip off at 7 p.m. from the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
