A Louisiana Double-Dip
Jan. 6, 2003 NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team heads to Louisiana to defend its three-game winning streak against Nicholls State and Southeastern Louisiana. The Ladyjacks will be in Thibodaux, La., Thursday to take on the Lady Colonels. The game is slated for a 5:45 p.m., tipoff in Stopher Gymnasium. SFA returns to action Saturday against Southeastern Louisiana. The game against the Lady Lions is scheduled for a 4 p.m., tipoff in the University Center. SFA vs. the Lady Colonels: The Ladyjacks have dominated the series with Nicholls State, compiling a 27-1 (.964) all-time series record. SFA has won the last 27 meetings, with the lone NSU victory coming in the 1984-85 season when the two teams first met on the court. SFA vs. the Lady Lions: The Ladyjacks are a perfect 14-0 against Southeastern Louisiana. The two teams faced each other three times last season, with SFA picking up a 57-49 victory in Hammond. The series dates back to the 1986-87 season. Looking Ahead ... The Ladyjacks will return home for a two-game homestand on Thursday Jan. 16th. SFA will tipoff against Lamar at 6:15 p.m. The Ladyjacks return to the court 48 hours later to take on Sam Houston State. The game against the Bearkats is slated to begin at 6:15 p.m. Both games will played at the William R. Johnson Coliseum. Admission is free to students. |
