Ladyjack Basketball Wins Game Over Southwest Texas
Feb. 10, 2001 CONTACT: Mandy B. Sciba NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin State University Ladyjack basketball team continued both their home game winning streak and overall winning streak after defeating the Southwest Texas State Bobcats 86-54 at William R. Johnson Coliseum in Nacogdoches. The Ladyjacks are 21-3 overall and undefeated in Southland Conference play 16-0. Three Ladyjacks were in double figures including Nathesia Wright (Arlington, TX.) with 24 points, Latisha Prater (Cotton Port, LA.) with 16 points and Amy Collins (San Antonio, TX) with 14 points. Amy Collins had an impressive night as she scored her first double-double (14 points and 12 rebounds) of her career at SFA. As a team SFA shot .476 (30-63) from the field, .444 (4-9) from the three-point range and .786 (22-28) from the free-throw line. Under the basket the Ladyjacks had 12 offensive and 30 defensive rebounds. The Ladyjacks will be back in action Thursday, February 15, at 7:00 PM, as they face the McNeese State Cowgirls in William R. Johnson Coliseum.
