Ladyjacks Travel to Corpus Christi to Face Islanders

March 3, 2008

The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team will look to bounce back from a disappointing week that saw it drop two consecutive games. The Ladyjacks enter the week with a 10-16 (.385) overall record, and are 7-7 (.500) in Southland Conference play. SFA is fourth in the SLC West Division, and currently the No. 5 seed in the upcoming SLC tournament. SFA will be in Corpus Christi, Texas, Wednesday to face the Islanders (10-18/6-8 SLC). A&M-Corpus Christi is currently fifth in the SLC West, and locked in a three tie for the No. 7 seed in the league tournament. The Islanders have lost three of their last four games, and are coming off a 60-47 setback against Texas-San Antonio. The game against the Islanders is slated to begin at 7 p.m. from the American Bank Center.

The Ladyjacks are 4-2 (.667) all-time against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Ladyjacks dropped the first two games of the series, which began during the 2003-04 season. SFA has rallied to win the last four meetings, including a 68-57 decision in Nacogdoches earlier this season. The Ladyjacks recorded a 76-65 victory over the Islanders last season at the American Bank Center.

The Ladyjacks will return home to close out the 2007-08 regular season Saturday against Texas-San Antonio (19-8/11-3 SLC). The 'Runners enter the week third in the SLC West Division, fighting for the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. The game against the Roadrunnes will tipoff at 6 p.m. from the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
