Four Ladyjacks Named All-SLC
March 4, 2002 PLANO, Texas - Seniors Chaquita Dilworth (Temple, Texas), Jessica Guild, Latisha Prater (Cottonport, La.) and junior Nathesia Wright (Arlington, Texas) were named to the 2002 All-Southland Conference team announced the league Monday. Dilworth was the Ladyjacks' lone first-team selection. She led the Ladyjacks and was seventh in league with her 12.5 points per game. That mark rose to 13.2 per game in league contests. Dilworth was also among the league's top-10 rebounds pulling down 6.9 per contest. Dilworth closed out the season as one of the league's most dominant players scoring in double-figures in six of the team's final seven games, including setting a career-high in points twice during that stretch. Dilworth was named league player of the week on Jan. 22. Prater was named to the All-SLC second team. Prater is among the league leaders in points, rebounds, assists and steals. She recorded the seventh best day in the nation, in terms of steals, with her nine against Sam Houston State. Prater has recorded nine double-doubles during her senior season, including a current streak of five consecutive. She was also named league player of the week during that stretch. Guild and Wright were selected to the All-SLC third team. Guild was second on the team in scoring (11.3 pg) and tops on the team and second in the conference with 3.52 steals per game. Guild became the school's single-season steals leader in the season-finale against Texas-San Antonio with her 90th steal. She was named SLC player of the week on Jan. 2. Wright was fourth on the squad at 9.7 points per game. SFA's open the SLC Championships Thursday at the William R. Johnson Coliseum. The Ladyjacks host the lowest remaining seed after the first round. The game is scheduled to tipoff at 7 p.m. -SFA- |
