NACOGDOCHES - First-team All-Southland Conference selection, and 2007 SLC Player of the Year, Charity Egenti has been offered a contract by the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury announced Ladyjack head coach Lee Ann Riley Tuesday morning.

"I'm extremely excited for Charity," said Riley. "She has come so far in just a short period of time. We knew she was a good player when she came here, but she has really taken her game to another level. After last season, Charity took it upon herself to work hard during the offseason and it has really paid off for her."

Egenti came off the bench to average 5.1 points and 3.8 rebounds during her junior season, but really came into her own as a senior. Egenti finished third in the conference averaging 16.7 points per game and tops in the league pulling down 9.7 rebounds per contest. She also recorded one of the best seasons in school history in terms of blocks, swatting 61 shots. Egenti finished second in the conference averaging just under two blocks per game. She finished her career seventh all-time in school history with 93 blocks.

Egenti recorded 12 double-doubles on the season, and wrapped up her career earning first-team all-conference and league MVP honors. It was the 10th time SFA has produced the conference player of the year.
