    NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin State University Ladyjack basketball team has been chosen to participate in the 2001 Preseason National Invitational Tournament. The prestigious tournament will start November 9 and will end November 19. The WNIT is a 16-team, single elimination tournament for the NCAA Division I schools, annually showcasing some of the top women's college basketball programs in the nation.

    Other teams participating in the tournament will include Colorado, Connecticut, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, Fairfield, Florida International, George Mason, Loyola Marymount, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oral Roberts, Oregon State, Pacific, Stephen F. Austin, Temple and Vanderbilt.

    The tournament will begin with the first round games on Friday, November 9 at the campus sites of participating schools. Round two games will be held on November 11 with the semifinals occuring November 14, 15 or 16. The championship will be held Sunday or Monday, November 18 or 19.

    Fairfield at Connecticut

    Stephen F. Austin at Florida International

    Evansville at Temple

    George Mason at North Carolina

    Pacific at New Mexico

    Oral Roberts at Colorado

    Loyola Marymount at Oregon State

    Eastern Kentucky at Vanderbilt
