Ladyjacks' Schedule Among Nations Toughest
Nov. 6, 2002 NACOGDOCHES - Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball head coach Lee Ann Riley is putting her words into action when it comes to the Ladyjacks strength of schedule. The Ladyjacks 2002-03 non-conference schedule is ranked third toughest in the nation by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. The Ladyjacks are listed behind only Tennessee and Southern California. The Ladyjacks upcoming non-conference slate includes five teams that advanced to either the NIT or NCAA tournaments last season. Four of the Ladyjacks non-conference opponents are listed among the EPSN/USA Today Preseason Top 25 Poll, including No. 15 Louisiana Tech, No. 16 Arkansas, No. 18 Colorado State and No. 19 Oklahoma. The rest of the Ladyjacks non-conference schedule includes Wichita State, Alabama and Auburn. SFA kicks off the 2002-03 season Thursday with an exhibition game against TJ Sokol Hradec Králové. The game is slated to get underway at 7 p.m., from the William R. Johnson Coliseum. The Ladyjacks regular-season opener will be Saturday Nov. 23, at Arkansas. -SFA- |
