Bowling Fourth After Day One Of Prairie View A&M Invitational

ARLINGTON, Texas – Eleventh-ranked Stephen F. Austin sits in fourth place after the first of three days of competition at the Prairie View A&M Invitational, being held at the Bowling International Training and Research Center in Arlington, Texas.
The Ladyjacks tallied 4,100 pins through the five four-game baker sets on Friday afternoon to end the day in fourth place, just 10 pins behind third-place No. 1 Valparaiso and 87 pins back of No. 5 Central Missouri .
Eighth-ranked Arkansas State holds the top spot through the first day of action with 4,317 pins.
SFA went 3-2 in the win-loss column Friday, improving their overall record to 49-38. The Ladyjacks started the tournament against No. 7 Vanderbilt, falling 838-792, before bouncing back to defeat Louisiana Tech, 881-758.
The Ladyjacks continued their winning ways by taking down No. 6 Maryland Eastern Shore, 767-710 and then defeated Jackson State (857-724).
SFA came up just short in a 829-803 loss in the day’s final match to No. 1 Valparaiso.
SFA continues action at the Prairie View A&M Invitational on Saturday morning, beginning five traditional team matches at 9:40 a.m.
