No. 9 Ranked Ladyjacks Head to New Orleans

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The No. 9 ranked Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack bowling team heads to New Orleans, La., this weekend to kickoff the 2013-2014 season at the Tulane Invitational.
“We are very excited to get the ball rolling on this season,” head coach Amber Lemke said. “We have high expectations with this talented team and look forward to building on the successful season we had last year.”
The Ladyjacks are looking to make a jump into the top eight of the NCAA rankings in order to receive a bid to the NCAA championships. SFA missed the NCAA championships by just one spot a year ago, finishing the season ranked ninth in the nation.
The Ladyjacks will be one of eleven teams competing this weekend including Tulane University (host), Sam Houston State University (6), Louisiana Tech, Prairie View A&M University (19), Bethune-Cookman University (20), Texas Southern University, Florida A&M University, Alabama State University, Jackson State University and Alabama A&M University.
The three-day tournament gets underway Friday, Oct. 18, at 10:00 a.m. with five four-game Baker matches. Saturday’s five team matches will begin at 12:15 p.m., followed by Sunday’s best of seven Baker matches kicking off at 8:30 a.m.
