Ladyjacks Finish Sixth At NJ Jamboree

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks bowling team finished in sixth place at the end of Sunday at the 2011 NJ Jamboree.
SFA closed out the tournament with matches against Adelphia, Kutztown and UMES. Nicole Parkhurst had the best individual performance for SFA, finishing 17th with an average score of 198. Madison Williams (23), Ashli Rosenkranz (42), Whitney McCoy (62), Chelsea King (69), Moe Surekin (91) and Dustie Hammond (99) rounded out the individual performances for the Ladyjacks.
On Saturday, the Ladyjacks ended the day in seventh place after they went 3-2 in quad-Baker matches.
SFA began the day with a quad-Baker match against Morgan State. SFA bowled games of 163, 159, 194, 158 and 195 for a total of 869, to win by 10 pins. The Lady Birds accumulated a total score of 859 with games of 146, 181, 201, 128 and 203.
In match two the Ladyjacks took on Monmouth. SFA's total in this match was just two points higher than the one before as they lost to Monmouth 982-871.
In match three the Ladyjacks rebounded putting up a total score of 981 in route over the Adelphi Panthers. SFA bowled a 180, 201, 201, 187, and finished strong with a 212 from Madison Williams.
SFA was pitted against St. Francis, in match four. SFA continued its winning ways, dominating the red flash 882-800.
Rounding out the day the Ladyjacks got a strong finish from Parkhurst, bowling a 236, but it wasn't enough as SFA took the loss against Sacred Heart 907-930.
