Ladyjacks Improve Five Spots on Second Day

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks fired a 314 in the second-round of the Kiawah Intercollegiate in Kiawah Island, S.C., Monday afternoon. SFA's improved round sparked a climb in the standings by five places. SFA had three players finish the round with sub-80 scores, led by junior Aliece Anderson's 78. She moved 19 spots on the individual leaderboard to a tie for 70th with her overall score of 158. Senior Allison Flake recorded a score that was five strokes better than her opening-round score and is now tied for 88th with a 161. Senior Chelsea Simmons finished the day only two strokes back of Flake. She enters Tuesday's final round tied for 101st with a 163. Simmons is tied with teammate Mackenzie Steiner with a 81-82 - 163. Junior Rose Henderson closed the Ladyjack scoring with an 84-86 - 170 (T138th). The Ladyjacks will close out the three-day event Tuesday morning with the final 18 holes.
