Erin Lycan is entering her second season on the Ladyjack coaching staff. She is responsible for the training of the SFA goalkeepers and assists with the training of field players. Lycan joined the SFA staff after garnering a wealth of experience as a goalkeeper coach for numerous club teams and camps. In the last three years, the University of Virginia graduate has served on goalkeeping staff for the US Youth Soccer Region I Olympic Development Program. There she assessed player potential for the Region I Pool and created training sessions for U-13, U-15, U-16, and U-17 female goalkeepers.

Prior to coming to SFA, Lycan was the goalkeeper coach for the Redoubt Futbol Club in Chattanooga, Tenn., and served on staff for the Tennessee Olympic Development Program, working with both male and female youth goalkeepers. This past summer she was the head goalkeeper coach at the University of Virginia's Advanced Soccer Center of Excellence. Other camp experience includes: University of North Carolina Residence camps and Team camp, Curtis Blair's Soccer Academy, and numerous Memphis Mercury Soccer Academy camps.

Lycan enjoyed an accomplished playing career at Virginia. She came to the university as part of a seven-player recruiting class that Soccer Buzz Magazine ranked No. 1 in the country. Lycan spent four years in goal at Virginia, red-shirting her first season due to injury. As a senior in 2004, she helped lead the team to an Atlantic Coast Conference championship. Lycan was twice named to the ACC Honor Roll and served four years as the women's soccer representative for Virginia's Student Athlete Advisory Council. She also played on two semi-pro "W-league" teams -- the Hampton Roads Piranhas and the Memphis Mercury.

Lycan graduated from Virginia in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in anthropology. She holds an NSCAA National Diploma, a USSF National "C" License and an NSCAA Goalkeeping I Diploma.
