Texas Tops Ladyjacks

Sept. 23, 2007

AUSTIN, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks suffered a 4-0 loss at the hands of No. 4 Texas Sunday night, ending a modest three-game unbeaten streak. The shutout loss was just the second of the season for the Ladyjacks (3-3-1).

Texas' Niki Arlitt opened the scoring with a goal in the 11th minute. She scored again five minutes later, and the Longhorns took a 3-0 lead to halftime after Kasey Moore scored a goal with less than five seconds remaining in the half. Courtney Gaines notched a goal in the 62nd minute to set the final count.

The Longhorns outshot SFA, 27-7, for the game. The Ladyjacks recorded just four shots on goal, led by two from sophomore Kelli Wilson. SFA goalkeeper Crystin Pactor recorded nine saves in 90 minutes of action.

The shutout comes just two days after SFA's biggest offensive night of the season. Seven different Ladyjacks registered goals in a 7-2 verdict over Louisiana Tech on Friday.

SFA will look to get back in the win column next Sunday, when the Ladyjacks host Grambling State in their last non-conference match of the season. The game is set for a 2 p.m. start.
