    Cannon Named Preseason All-SLC

    PLANO, Texas - Sophomore forward Kendra Cannon (Kilgore, Texas) was named first-team preseason All-Southland Conference, announced the league office Thursday afternoon. Cannon was the lone SFA player on the team.

    The 2001 SLC freshman of the year, Cannon had the best single-season in SFA history leading the team in points (32), goals (14) and tied for the lead in assists (4). She is already the school's all-time leader in points, tied for the SFA all-time lead in goals and is tied for sixth all-time in assists. Cannon's on-the-field exploits earned her second-team All-SLC honors last season.

    The Ladyjacks kick-off the 2002 season Saturday Aug. 31st, against Louisiana State. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., from Homer Bryce Stadium.
