    Ladyjacks Earn SLC Honors

    PLANO, Texas - Two Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer players were named Aeropostale Student Athletes of the Week Tuesday by Southland Conference officials. Senior defender Camren Norris earned Defensive Player of the Week, and freshman forward Amanda Alders earned her second straight Offensive Player of the Week award.

    Alders, who was last week's offensive honoree for her four-goal performance in the Ladyjack Soccer Classic, added to her team-leading goal total by netting a score in SFA's 5-0 win over Grambling last week. The freshman also added an assist. She leads the team in scoring with five goals this season.

    Norris helped anchor a defense that smothered Grambling. The Tigers managed only two shots for the contest and didn't record a single shot in the first half.

    The Ladyjacks' win over Grambling was their only action last week. SFA's match Sunday against Northwestern State was called off on account of Hurricane Rita. The Ladyjacks (6-3-0) return to the field Friday with a home contest against Texas State.
