Ladyjack Softball Drops 1-0 Decision To UTSA
March 18, 2001 The Ladyjacks were shut out Sunday afternoon by the University of Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners, 1-0. UTSA's Angela Graham pitched another great game for UTSA in shutting down the SFA bats. Kym Kling (1-5) started and lasted six plus innings, taking the loss for SFA. Kling scattered seven hits in six innings of work, she also faced two batters in the seventh inning. UTSA scored their only run in the top of the seventh after the lead-off batter got on after being hit by a Kling pitch. That was followed by a sharp single up the middle. Kristin Nolan then came on in relief and got a long fly ball out to center field. CF Jaime Brown made a great over the shoulder catch, but the runner at second tagged and scored after Brown fell down making the play. The Ladyjacks return to action next weekend as they travel to Southeastern Lousiana for a three game series.
