    LAKE CHARLES, La. -- Nicole Carter delivered just what the 'Jacks needed in game two of a Southland Conference doubleheader with McNeese State Thursday afternoon in Lake Charles, La. as she pitched seven shutout innings to lead SFA to a 4-0 win over McNeese State. SFA (18-24, 8-12) bounced back with four runs on six hits one game after McNeese State's Jessica Denham pitched a perfect game for the Cowgirls (15-32, 4-12).

    Tara Hersey led SFA at the plate with two hits in three at-bats, scored two runs and drove in three. Hersey hit two home runs in the game, her first multiple home run game of her SFA career. Ragen Rutherford picked up the other RBI for SFA with a single in two trips. Carrie Woydziak, Lee Lara and Nicole Carter each had one hit for SFA.

    Carter shutout McNeese State on only two hits as she walked one and struck out five.
