The Ladyjack softball team swept the UT-Arlington Mavericks in a three game Southland Conference series over the weekend in Nacogdoches. SFA got strong pitching performances in all three games, and managed to come up with the big hit when they needed it in closing out the season with the sweep.

SFA won the first game of the series 6-3, behind seven strong innings from Cassie Hinton (2-2). Hinton allowed only two earned runs while scattering nine hits and striking out one. Angela Froboese and Kym Kling swung the big bats for SFA in the game as they combined to go five for seven with five RBIs and two runs scored.

The Ladyjacks came right back in game two of the doublheader to post an impressive 1-0 shutout behind Morgan Tolleson. Tolleson allowed only two hits in seven innings while striking out eight.

Cassie Hinton drove home the game's only run after second baseman Shannon Mori triple with two outs. Hinton then followed with the RBI single and that was all the Ladyjacks would need for the two game sweep of UTA.
