Jennifer Poulsen and the 19 members of the SFA softball team have enjoyed near ideal conditions for the first week of practice as they prepare for the Pebruary 2 opener at Texas Southern.

Poulsen and her staff have been the beneficiaries of perfect weather to start the spring semester and get their first workouts of the spring in, at Coy Simms Softball Complex.

SFA returns only 10 letterwinners and three starters from the 2001 team that won 24 games and lost 29. SFA went 12-15 in SLC play last season, narrowly missing the post-season softball tournament for the third straight year.

With an influx of talented newcomers and the addition of a new coaching staff, excitement has run high among both players and coaches as the opening week of practice gets underway.
