SLC Releases Preseason Softball Polls

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack softball team was pegged to finish ninth and 10th respectively, according to polls of league head coaches and sports information directors. The Ladyjacks earned 24 points in the coaches poll and pulled 23 in the SID poll. The Ladyjacks are coming off a 2011 season in which they went 14-36 overall and 9-21 in SLC play. Head coach Gay McNutt -- now in her fifth year at SFA -- and the Ladyjacks will begin the 2012 season on Feb. 10, when they open play in the Florida State Tournament. SFA's first home game is scheduled for Feb. 15 against Houston Baptist. The Ladyjacks will open SLC play on March 9 with a two-game series against McNeese State.
