    LAFAYETTE, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack softball team extended its win streak to four Friday afternoon with their 6-0 victory over Prairie View A&M at the Mardi Gras Classic. The Ladyjacks are now 4-5 (.444) overall.

    The game shaped up as a defensive struggle early as neither team could post a run through the first three innings. But the Ladyjacks took advantage of three Lady Panthers errors in the top of the fourth to plate the game's first run.

    SFA was leading by two when sophomore Crista Hargrove hit a pinch-hit three-run homerun to give the Ladyjacks a 5-0 advantage. The Ladyjacks also added a run in their half of the seventh inning.

    Senior Crissy Autry earned the win, going five innings surrendering only one hit and striking out 12.

    Freshman Crystal Dahlquist went 1-for-3 and scored two runs. Classmate Heather Hebert was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Sophomore Kristen Exline also added a couple of hits and scored a run.

    The Ladyjacks return to action Saturday for the final day of the Louisiana-Lafayette Mardi Gras Classic.
