Inclement Weather Sends Home SFA Softball

Feb. 25, 2006

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - For the second straight week, the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack softball team has been rained out of tournament play. The Ladyjacks were to face Southeastern Louisiana at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Birmingham Southern Panther Spring Fling, but due to inclement weather in the Birmingham area, the tournament has been cancelled.

Last week, the Ladyjacks returned home a day early from the Louisiana-Monroe Mardi Gras Classic because of freezing weather conditions.

SFA softball will return to the diamond with an even 4-4 record on Tuesday, Feb. 28 in their home and Southland Conference opening doubleheader against Northwestern State. The games are slated for a 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. start at Hoya Field in the Nacogdoches Baseball Complex, the new home of Ladyjack softball.
