SFA Softball To Take On Texas
March 3, 2004 NACOGDOCHES, Texas --The SFA Ladyjacks travel to Austin for doubleheader with the University of Texas Longhorns this weekend. SFA will enter into the game with a 5-10 overall record and 0-3 in conference play, while Texas is 11-9 on their season. The doubleheader will begin Friday, Mar. 5 at 3pm. Carrie Woydziak and Lee Lara are getting it done at the plate for SFA both batting in the .400's, but the 'Jacks will have to watch out for UT's Amber Hall who is hitting .491 on the year. SFA enters in to the game following five days of rest after their scheduled series with UL-Monroe was rescheduled due to a bad weather forecast in Louisiana. The Longhorns have played six games in the last seven days while participating in the NFCA Lead-Off Classic in Columbus, Georgia where they fell to No. 3 ranked California in the Silver consolation semifinals. UT is 8-1 at home and SFA is 3-8 on the road. Last year, SFA dropped both games to the Longhorns. |
