NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack softball team will wrap up its first home stand of the season Tuesday night, when the Ladyjacks host Texas Southern in a non-conference doubleheader. The twin bill is set to get under way at 4 p.m. from Hoya Field, with the second game scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.

The Ladyjacks are coming off a solid week that saw them go 2-2. SFA defeated Tulsa, 1-0, in eight innings last Thursday. That win was the fifth straight for the Ladyjacks -- SFA's longest winning streak of the season -- and marked the team's fourth straight shutout victory, including the third consecutive shutout tossed by sophomore pitcher Kari Hugie.

SFA saw its hot streak end in a 9-3 loss to Texas-Arlington in the opener of their weekend series on Saturday. The Mavericks went on to take a 6-1 win in Game 2, but SFA salvaged the weekend on Sunday, when Briana Bishop hit a two-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to give the Ladyjacks a 3-2 victory. Hugie (5-7) was credited with the win, giving her four wins in her last five appearances.

SFA enters this week fifth in the Southland Conference standings with a 4-2 league record. The Ladyjacks are 9-18 overall and winners of six of their last eight games.
