SFA Softball Hosts Centenary
March 28, 2007 NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack softball team will host Centenary Wednesday night in a non-conference match-up at Hoya Field. The game against the Ladies is set for a 6 p.m. start. SFA is coming off a weekend trip to Hammond, La., where the Ladyjacks lost two of three to Southland Conference foe Southeastern Louisiana. SFA actually outscored the Lions, 12-5, for the weekend, but nearly all of the Ladyjacks' run production came in the second game, when SFA took an 11-1 victory. The Ladyjacks fell, 3-1, in the opener and dropped a heartbreaker, 1-0, on Sunday. For the season, SFA is 12-20 with a 5-4 SLC record. The Ladyjacks are 4-2 at home this season with three straight home victories, dating back to a 3-2 win over Texas-Arlington on March 18. Centenary is 14-15 this season and is coming off a 13-0 home win over Grambling State on Tuesday night. That victory broke a four-game slide for the Ladies. Earlier this season, Centenary strung together a seven-game win streak. -- SFA -- |
