    RUSTON, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team kicked off the 2003 spring season Sunday afternoon against Louisiana Tech. The Lady Techsters defeated SFA, 4-3, in a tight match.

    Louisiana Tech took an early 1-0 lead after picking up victories at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles, to win the doubles point. The Ladyjacks followed by picking up singles victories at the Nos. 3 through 6 spots. Christine Huynh led the charge for SFA with her victory at No. 3 singles over Morgan Majors. The Ladyjacks' Emily Voss and Melissa Bass followed with victories, but the Ladyjacks couldn't pick up a victory at Nos. 1-3 singles.

    The Ladyjacks will return to action Saturday Feb. 22, when SFA will host North Texas. The match is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m., from the SFA Tennis Courts.
