Ladyjacks Wrap Up Weekend With Sweep of Louisiana Tech

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The SFA Ladyjack tennis team wrapped up a successful weekend with its second consecutive sweep of a school from Northern Louisiana, knocking off Louisiana Tech 7-0 on Sunday at the Schleif Tennis Complex.

Sophomore Roxana Enica continued to impress in the early portion of the season, winning 6-1, 6-0, in No. 1 singles action to for her third straight singles win of the year. She also teamed up with Christelle Kaempfer to pick up an 8-5 win in doubles action.

Sanjana Kapur and Mary Harrison paired up to secure the second doubles point, 8-3, over Gaspar and Wedderburn for the Lady Techsters. Kapur also picked up a No. 2 singles win in straight sets, while Harrison did the same in No. 3 singles.

No. 4 singles saw Gabriela Gadeva knock off Gaspar 6-3, 6-2, while Tanya Smolnikova finished off an impressive 6-4, 6-4 win in the No. 5 slot.

It was the second straight match in which the Ladyjacks (2-2) did not give up a single set as Louisiana Tech only brought five players, leaving open the third doubles and sixth singles slots on the docket.

SFA hits the road this week on Wednesday, traveling to Houston to take on the Cougars in the morning before battling Rice in the afternoon in the Bayou City.
