NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team ended its four-match drought with a 7-0 win over Central Arkansas. It was the first Southland Conference win for SFA as its overall record is now 4-9 overall and 1-4 in SLC play.

The Ladyjacks started off by sweeping the doubles point. SFA's No. 1 duo of Roxana Enica and Laura Harrison defeated Petra Keilova and Rebecca Miller by a score of 8-2. Lauren Nowicki and Mary Harrison took an 8-1 No. 2 doubles win over Charissa Colclough and Jenny Paine. Gabriela Gadeva and Tatiana Smolnikova closed out the doubles sweep with an 8-3 win over UCA's No. 3 pair.

In singles play, Enica allowed only two points from Keilova with a 6-2, 6-0 win in No. 1 singles. Laura Harrison won the No. 2 singles point with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Colclough. Gadeva defeated Miller, 6-2, 4-6 (2) in No. 3 play while Nowicki took a 6-2, 6-0 win over Heidi Miller. Mary Harrison and Smolnikova finished off the evening with wins in No. 5 and 6 singles, respectively. Mary Harrison had a 6-2, 6-1 win over Paine and Smolnikova defeated Brittany Ross, 7-5, 6-0.

The Ladyjacks will return to the court Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. against Northwestern State. The Southland Conference match will be held at the SFA Tennis Complex.
