BEAUMONT, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team fell short against McNeese State Tuesday afternoon, 5-2, in a make-up match that had originally been scheduled to be played in Nacogdoches more than a month ago. The Ladyjacks are now 6-5 (.545) overall and 3-3 (.500) in the Southland Conference.

McNeese State jumped out to a 1-0 lead with their victories at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles. The Cowgirls' Yvonne Breslor extended the lead to 2-0 with her 6-1, 6-2, win over sophomore Jessica Beauchene (Paradise Valley, Ariz.) at No. 1 singles. Junior Christine Huynh (Katy, Texas) put SFA on the scoreboard when she beat McNeese State's Magali Gando, 6-0, 6-4, at No. 2 singles. MSU extended the lead to 3-1 over the Ladyjacks before junior Sandra Wolfe (Austin, Texas) scored the Ladyjacks second point with her 6-0, 6-3, win over the Cowgirls' Carolanne Lunsden at No. 4 singles. But the Ladyjacks could get no closer as McNeese State picked up victories at both Nos. 5 and 6 singles.

The Ladyjacks return to action Saturday against Southwest Texas. The match is slated to begin at 10 a.m., from the SFA Tennis Courts.
