HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin State University Ladyjack tennis team defeated Sam Houston State 6-1 April 11, in Huntsville to improve their Southland Conference record to 4-5 for the 2001 season. SFA had a clean sweep in the doubles and only one loss during singles play.

The Ladyjacks won a protest over the Northwestern State/SFA match played on March 25, in Nacogdoches. With this additional win the Ladyjacks have landed themselves a place in the Southland Conference Championship Tournament April 20-22, in San Antonio, Texas.

The Ladyjacks will be back in action Monday, April 16, in Shreveport, Louisiana as they face the University of Louisiana-Monroe.
