Louisiana Tech fought back to take a 2-1 lead with victories at Nos. 2 and 3 singles. The Ladyjacks tied the match at 2-2 when Wolfe beat the Lady Techsters' Holly Ready, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 4 singles. Louisiana Tech picked up a win at No. 5 singles but the Ladyjacks were able to tie the match at 3, with only one match left, after freshman Ashley Johnson (Nacogdoches, Texas) beat the Lady Techsters' Majors, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 6 singles.

With the match tied at 3-3, Beauchene battled Louisiana Tech's Kristin Graif to three sets before deciding the match. Beauchene beat Graif, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2, to ice the win for SFA.
