HOUSTON, Texas - A four-hour rain delay threw off the schedule in Houston, but the SFA tennis team was still able to notch a handful of wins on the first day of the Cougar Fall Draw.

Sophomore Roxana Enica had an 8:00 a.m. match, but was good enough in the early-morning hours of the day to pick up a 6-2, 6-4 win over Velkovska of Southeastern Louisiana in Flight A singles. She will take part in the semifinals on Saturday against Sotnikova of Sam Houston.

Mary Harrison was the only other Ladyjack to take a singles match on the day, knocking off Creed of Lee College in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 in Flight F singles.

Harrison was part of SFA's only doubles win of the day as well, teaming up with freshman Andreea Enica to defeat Manzur/Tsurkanu of Sam Houston in the consolation portion of Flight C doubles.

The Ladyjacks will continue play on Saturday with time scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
