Ladyjack Tennis Still Looking for First SLC Win

March 22, 2007

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team has struggled through Southland Conference play after going 0-4 through its first four matches. But SFA will try to turn things around this weekend as it hosts conference foes Northwestern State and Central Arkansas Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Roxana Enica has led the Ladyjacks in No. 1 singles play, having won five of her last six matches, including a string of four consecutive. She is 5-5 on the year with a 4-4 record at No. 1 play and a 1-1 record in No. 2 singles.

Enica and doubles partner Laura Harrison have gone 6-5 in No. 1 doubles, but have lost their last three sets.

Northwestern State is 7-5 overall and 3-2 in conference play while the Sugar Bears are 2-9 overall and have a 1-4 league record.

The matches are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday from the SFA Tennis Complex.
