    NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin women's tennis team will be one of 60 teams to compete in the ITA Kickoff Weekend Jan. 25-28, 2013. There are 15 regional sites which will be hosted by UCLA, California, Alabama, Nebraska, Duke, North Carolina, Northwestern, Texas A&M, USC, Miami (Fla.), Baylor, Mississippi, Georgia, Texas and Michigan. SFA will travel to Austin, along with Utah and Wichita State. The 'Jacks will face Utah in the opening round of the tournament.

    The ITA Women's Kickoff Weekend is the most prestigious preseason tournament in college tennis, similar to basketball's Preseason NIT. The nation's top 60 teams are invited to compete in 15 four-team regions. The winners of each region advance to play in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, which will take place Feb. 8-11th.

    Similar to the 2012 NCAA Championships, SFA has received its first berth into the ITA's Kickoff tournament, and will also be a three seed. The 'Jacks are coming off the most successful season in program history. SFA recorded a 23-5 mark in 2012 winning its first-ever SLC regular season and tournament titles and advancing to the NCAA Championships.
