FRISCO, Texas - Seventy-four Stephen F. Austin student-athletes were named to the 2007 CapitalOne Bank/Southland Conference Commissioner's Spring Academic Honor Roll, announced by the league late Thursday. SFA landed the third-most selections in the conference, a list highlighted by distance runner Katrina Nicholas, a second-team choice on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team.

The Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who competed in league championship sports during the spring semester and maintained a 3.0 semester grade-point average while enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours.

The track and field team led the charge for SFA with 30 selections to the Honor Roll -- 19 female athletes and 11 from the men's team. Baseball and softball were next with 14 and 13 selections, respectively. Six tennis players made the list, and five athletes from the equestrian team were chosen. The men's and women's basketball squads each had three student-athletes named to the Honor Roll.
