NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team finished up the SFA Invitational with a strong showing. The Ladyjack freshman class looked exceptionally strong, with a second-place finish and two consolation winners.

Freshman Laura Harrison went 2-1 for SFA to finish second in the singles second flight. Harrison battled McNeese State's Magali Riseleo for the flight two championship but lost. 6-2, 6-2. Classmate Lauren Nowicki won the singles flight three championship, defeating Texas State's Lauren Barzilla, 6-2, 6-2. Freshman Kama Scott recorded a 6-2, 6-1 victory over the Bobcats Kristine Sprout for the flight four singles title.

It wasn't just the Ladyjacks' freshmen class that was getting the job done over the weekend. Sophomore Megan Langston finished second in the flight five singles bracket, while junior Melissa Bass won the flight six singles title. Sophomore Jennifer Cline was the flight seven singles consolation winner with her 6-3, 6-0 victory over Laura Basiric.

The Ladyjacks return to action Wednesday they travel to Beaumont, Texas to take on Lamar in a doubleheader. The match is set to begin at 9 a.m. The afternoon session will begin at 6 p.m.
