NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin women's tennis team finished up a solid outing at the Lamar Invitational Saturday. The Ladyjacks advance five to the championships match of their respective flights. The doubles team of Emily Voss and Ashley Johnson defeated teammates Whitney DeYoung and Jennifer Cline, 8-1, for the flight four doubles title.

DeYoung also advanced to the finals in singles at flight 7. She faced McNeese State's Allison Lui for the title. DeYoung played hard but lost the match, 6-3, 6-4. Cline faced Texas-Pan American's Alana Breen in the flight 8 championship but dropped the match, 6-2, 6-1.

A host of Ladyjacks won their final match of the weekend to finish third in their respective flights. Junior Robin Houston, junior Ashley Johnson, freshman Lauren Nowicki and freshman Kama Scott all finished third in their respective flights.

The Ladyjacks return to the court Tuesday Oct. 14, when they travel to Huntsville, Texas, to take on Sam Houston State. The match against the Bearkats is slated to begin at 9 a.m.
