NACOGDOCHES - Justin Gibert accepted the position of Ladyjack assistant volleyball coach announced Stephen F. Austin head coach Debbie Humphreys Friday. Gibert replaces Jennie Collings who resigned in December to pursue other career opportunities.

Gibert spent the past season in San Antonio as an assistant coach at Texas-San Antonio. Prior to his stay with the Roadrunners, Gibert was the head coach at Panola College. During his four seasons in Carthage, Texas, Gibert's teams compiled a 133-44 (.751) winning percentage and won three conference titles. Gibert guided Panola to four consecutive playoff berths, two regional tournament final appearances and was ranked among the nation's top 20.

"We're excited about Justin joining our staff," said Humphreys. "What he brings to our staff is a knowledge of the Southland Conference as well as recruiting in the state of Texas. Justin brings a lot of energy, enthusiasm and dedication to the program that we are really excited about."

SFA finished the 2002 volleyball season with a 22-12 overall record. It marked the second consecutive year SFA had recorded 20 wins in a season.
