SFA To Hold Dig For The Cure Match on October 23rd

Oct. 4, 2007

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The SFA Athletic Department is teaming up with the American Cancer Association and Zeta Tau Alpha to put on SFA's inaugural Dig For A Cure match on October 23 when the Ladyjacks volleyball team takes on rival Sam Houston at 7:00 p.m.

Pledges will be accepted for each dig accumulated during the match; or, if donors wish, donations will also be accepted on a flat rate. All money raised from this even will go directly to the American Cancer Association to help fight breast cancer. Anyone who cannot make a monetary donation is still encouraged to attend the match and show their support in person.

Donations can also be sent to the SFA Athletic Department; however, checks are requested to be made out to the American Cancer Society.

The Ladyjacks are on a roll once again in 2007, having won their last eight matches and are 4-0 in Southland Conference play and are averaging just over 50 digs per three-game match. Debbie Humphreys has her team in position to capture their fourth-straight Southland Conference title.
